I stand at the Door and Knock

knocking_at_doorThe inherited church teaches that this is a salvation verse. It is not. Don’t let them rob you of the truth with their constant need to find salvation is every verse. This illustration is in a letter to a congregation not a sinner. A congregation that has locked Messiah out.

14  “And to the angel of the church in La-odicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.

15  “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!  16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.  17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing; not knowing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.  18 Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.  19 Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten; so be zealous and repent.  20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.  21 He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.  22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’” Rev. 3:14-22

How has the congregation locked Him out? With their theology and doctrines. The Orthodox have taught for centuries that the Bible is just allegories. So they were able to change sabbath from the seventh day of the week to the venerable day of the Sun. The the Reformers receives a greater light. They began to correct things long forgotten. However they stopped. They gave up truth and began new errors. The Neo-orthodox came along and said that the Bible was not  even written by men of God. It is instead a fantasy written long after the events, if there were events at all. The Dispensationalist came with their delayed kingdom. Everything is put off to some perfect future. So they flounder around in a darkness all their own.

All of this false doctrine has left the church poor, pitiable, naked, and blind. We are luck warm! Nether refreshing to our King nor soothing Him. However the solution is not asking Him for something. He says we must buy our cure. Here there is an effort that the inherited churches have lost. After all “God is Love” and “no good thing will He withhold”, right? This passage teaches that we must be disciplined so that we will be zealous and repent.

What He says is that if the individual will open the door He will come in and have an intimate dinner i.e. relationship with them. The King of Kings will spend time with the individual. But we must open the door.

There is a whole book on having an intimate relationship with our Beloved King. However the inherited churches has discouraged the reading of this book for centuries. Because, Well, to be quite honest The Song of Songs is an erotic poem. However it is the KEY to the door, but because of the erotic content it has been easy for the spiritual leaders to continue to stand between God and His people, never letting them go into the King’s chambers, where the spiritual leader might lose the control. Where the individual might obtain a deeper understanding of the King’s plans and purposes. Where the hidden Kingdom will come to light, the corruption of the Kingdom will be seen, and it future perfection will be understood.

So don’t let the groom men stand in the way of the Groom. Don’t let them keep you out of the King’s chambers. Don’t think you can go in with a group. Just like the bride on the wedding night you must go in alone. Yes it a litter scary to open that door. You will never be the same.
