Of Prophets and Teachers

10644477_10204218552538825_5590522221304830397_nProphet, navi in Hebrew has two meanings, one is a person who fore-tells future events, the other is a person who forth-tells God’s instruction. One who stands and read from the Bible in public is operating in the office of a prophet, they are imparting God’s instructions. So your average spiritual leader is a prophet.

Far too many are unaware that there are rules to being a prophet of God.

The Test of a Prophet

But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to make you leave the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from the midst of you. Deut. 13:5

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ Deut. 18:20

. . . when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him. Deut. 18:22

Examples of False Teachings

Those that preached on the Blood Moons, which was nothing more than astrology posing as Christianity.

Then there are the name it and claim it people, It is only in fairy tales and mythology that words and wishes have transforming energy.

Then the tithers, who think giving will get them great riches. God cannot be bribed or bought off.

The dispensationalist yell at the top of their collective lungs, “the law has passed away,” as if they are quoting a Bible verse. The teaching that one can willfully break the Law of God is nowhere stated in the Bible. In fact it states the exact opposite.

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom. 3:31 KJV

It is a false teaching by false prophets that the law can be cast aside. Rather we are to cast aside such teachers.

Where there is no prophecy the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. Prov. 29:18

We need to carefully examine the spiritual leaders that teach.

Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, for you know that we who teach shall be judged with greater strictness. James 3:1

All these should all be put out. However the people are more emotional attached to these men than they are to God. These spiritual leaders have become like little gods taking the love of the people, instead of leading them to love God above all others.

True faith seems to be rigid and inflexible to those on the outside. However truth is truth and can never have fellowship with error. One must never amalgamate truth with anything earthly or of man’s creativity. To often these false teacher adopt anything or everything to fascinate the people, and to bring more people into their churches they have turn their churches into nothing more than circuses. Just like the pagan temples of the ancient world.

If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; 1John 1:6

False Plague is Constant

There is nothing new under the sun. God’s people have aways been plagued by corrupt spiritual leaders.

. . . the elder and honored man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail; Is. 9:15 c.f. Rev. 9:10, 19; 12:4

These also reel with wine and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are confused with wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in giving judgment. Is. 28:7

. . . the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes? Jer. 5:31

Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words from one another. Jer. 23:30

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 2Cor. 11:13

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2Pet. 2:1

“‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear evil men but have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and found them to be false; Rev. 2:2Amerling, Friedrich Von (1803-1887) -The Oriental

In this last church age we have locked Messiah out of the churches. The only hope to achieve a personal authentic relationship with Him, is to not to rely on the congregation. Only ONE can open the door. It is not the congregation, not the group, just ONE, that can have an intimate relationship with our Lord. The congregation is quite happy with Him outside the door.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Rev. 3:20

For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matt. 22:14

Open the door by opening your Bible.

  1. I could say the same thing with Yeshua..

n the first intense, Jesus prophecy failed at least twice:

    Mat 16:28 say:
“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

This Bible verse refers to “Daniel 7:13-14”
and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him. 14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

The only logical interpretation of that verse is to see Jesus coming on the clouds of heaven as Daniel 7 say. Nevertheless, because all the people present when Jesus said that are dead, this prophecy has not come to pass and this is a false prophecy.

    The second is Mark 14:61-62
But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Again, referring to the same event, that specific High Priest never saw Jesus coming on the clouds of heaven, and in case anyone doubt it,… he is dead since about 2000 years.

Second, we should not listen to prophets even if the event comes to pass if he ask to worship another god. How can we know if Jesus is a new arrival god as Deut 32:17 described “gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.”? If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or the wife you embrace[b] or your friend who is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which neither you nor your fathers have known, Did any of the disciples’ parent worshipped Jesus? The answer is NO.

You might say that G-d is a Trinity, but it is clear if you look at those verses that He is not:

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is ONE! Deuteronomy 6:1

    19. Zechariah 14:9 ” And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

But let us first look at the verse showing G-d is one and alone.

THERE IS NONE OTHER LIKE THE LORD
    Exodus 8:10
Then he said, “Tomorrow.” So he said, “May it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the LORD our God.

    THERE IS NONE BESIDE HIM.
    Deuteronomy 4:35
“To you it was shown that you might know that the LORD, He is God; there is no other besides Him.
    Deuteronomy 32:12
“The LORD alone guided him, And there was no foreign god with him.
    Deuteronomy 32:39
‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.
    Isaiah 44:6
“Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
    Isaiah 45:5
    “I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me;
    Isaiah 44:8
Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.’”
    Isaiah 45:6
That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other,
    18. Joel 2:27 ” And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

    THERE IS NO OTHER gods
    Deuteronomy 4:39
“Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
    Isaiah 43:10
“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.
    Isaiah 45:14
Thus says the LORD, “The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush And the Sabeans, men of stature, Will come over to you and will be yours; They will walk behind you, they will come over in chains And will bow down to you; They will make supplication to you: ‘Surely, God is with you, and there is none else, No other God.’”

    No other are like HIM.
    Exodus 9:14
“For this time I will send all My plagues on you and your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth.
    1 Samuel 2:2
“There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
    Isaiah 46:9
“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me,

Finally, look at 2 Thessalonians 2:4:

He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God

Jesus (the mainstream Christianity one at least) did exactly that; exalting himself over G-d.

Thus, Jesus should be viewed as a false prophet.

    • Say What?
No matter how logical your proof, if your preconceived notions are in error your conclusion will be unavoidably false. We are not Dispensationalists. We believe that Dispensationalism is a false hermeneutic that should be abandoned by the Messianic movement.

      Matt 16 passage
Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” Matt. 16:28
Obviously your definition of the Kingdom is not the same as John the Baptist’s or the Messiah’s. On our other blog, see Kingdom Parables.

      Dan 7
Daniel seven is about the temporal power of the Imperial Nations that have ruled the world from Nebuchadnezzar through the fall of Papal Rome. It even sets a date for the last half of this, as 1260 years. Obviously with a period that long it has nothing to do with our Lord’s earthly life of only 33 1/2 years.

      Mark 14 passage
61 But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 And Jesus said, “I am; and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Mark 14:61-62
They did in fact see Him. On our prophecy blog, see Coming in the Clouds and our whole teaching on the Olivet Discourse.

Seated or standing at the right had of Power is a reference to the Messianic prophecy in Zechariah 13:7-9.

      Trinity
We have not as yet sat down and written a post on the doctrine of the Trinity. We do however cover it in our Doctrinal Statement. We have many post on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as well. But the long and the short of it is, The Bible clearly teaches that the Father is God, and It clearly teaches that the Son is God, and It also clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit is God. It also teaches us that there is only One God. I don’t know exactly how this works, but if you want a God you can understand the nature of, I recommend Zeus.
